Disaster Relief and Recovery
We’ve recently added Disaster Relief as a core cause because of the devastation it leaves behind, the loss, displacement, and disruption it brings to families, communities, and livelihoods.
At ODEM Foundation, we believe recovery starts with compassion and coordinated action. When disaster strikes, we mobilize to support affected households in Jamaica in a small but meaningful way, choosing a number of families and livelihoods, such as farmers, to assist directly by providing emergency supplies, coordinating communication, and helping rebuild what’s been lost.
Our disaster relief initiatives focus on:
-
Immediate Response: Delivering food, clothing, and emergency essentials to those most affected.
-
Community Recovery: Assisting in the restoration of homes, farms, and small enterprises to restore stability and income.
-
Partnership & Support: Working hand-in-hand with local organizations, community groups, and donors to strengthen resilience and long-term recovery.
Together, we help families, and communities in whatever way we can in the rebuilding process. If you’d like to donate, volunteer, or partner, please contact us, every contribution helps restore lives and hope.

2025: Hurricane Melissa
Our first Disaster Relief initiative focuses on helping families and small communities recover from the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa. The storm caused severe flooding, crop loss, and damage to homes and livelihoods across parts of Manchester, St. Elizabeth, and surrounding parishes. Many families and farmers are now faced with rebuilding their lives from the ground up.

Through the Hurricane Melissa Relief Effort, ODEM Foundation is providing targeted support to a selected group of households and livelihoods especially farmers and small business owners by:
-
Supplying food, clothing, and other essential items.
-
Assisting with cleanup and basic recovery efforts.
-
Coordinating local communication and information sharing.
-
Partnering with community groups to ensure aid reaches those most in need.
Our Kingston Office now serves as a donation drop-off point, collecting food, clothing, and basic supplies for affected families.
This effort marks the beginning of our ongoing commitment to stand with Jamaican communities in times of crisis — rebuilding, restoring, and renewing hope, one household at a time.
